Volunteer for the PTA
The PTA are always looking for volunteers to be on the Committee or as occasional volunteers who help at events. As a volunteer you could help prepare for events, deliver leaflets, sell tickets, put up posters, help with advertising and source prizes.
When do we meet?
We meet once a half-term in the evening to plan our future fundraising events. The meetings usually take place in a local pub, or when needed, virtually.
Why do we fundraise?
The funds we raise go towards the purchase of book bags/rucksacks, school trips, sports and IT equipment, Reception toys, digital cameras, books and lots more. It pays for all the ‘extras’ not provided by the school budget that make our children’s learning experiences so much more fulfilling and exciting.
What events do we run?
We run a whole range events, including school discos, quizzes, bingo/disco evenings, treasure hunts, uniform sales, book and cake sales and our brilliant Christmas hamper raffle to name a few. We also work with the Werrington Scouts and Guides to put on the Fireworks Display and join in with the village Christmas Light 'Switch On', which has become a much loved festive event.
Are there any other benefits?
Being on the PTA provides a great opportunity to meet new people, put your skills to use, gives you a better insight into how the school is run, a better relationship/communication with the school and teaching staff and also involvement in your child’s education.
Where do I find more information?
The PTA has its own Facebook page. This is a great way to keep updated on what events and initiatives we are running.

We also have a noticeboard in the playground, which is updated regularly and shows upcoming events and general information.
Who can join Committee?
As a parent, guardian or carer, you automatically become a member of the PTA community when your child joins the school and are welcome to join us as a volunteer when you can or sign up for become a official Committee Member. We also welcome grandparents and other relatives who express an interest in supporting the PTA and its work.
Members of the PTA Committee are elected at the AGM (Annual General Meeting) and are Trustees of the charity.
How do I join?
We hope you are interested! The PTA is always looking for new members. Each year we lose members when their children move onto secondary school. We are grateful for any help you can offer, as much or as little time as you can spare, and we are always looking for new fundraising ideas.

Not sure if it is for you? Why not have a look at our Myth busting and FAQs page.

Or perhaps you'd like to be more involved but not part of the formal committee? You can still become a parent volunteer instead and help out in any way you can.

Please contact us or come along to our AGM, which takes place every October.
